In addition, the Bureau's environmental testing items have received 101 certifications approved by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (abbreviated as TAF) and the Bureau now is the environmental protection authority that holds the most certificates in Taiwan. |

In an evaluation report issued by the international professional institute MERCER in 2010, Kaohsiung City was ranked as the 13th Eco City in the Asia Pacific area excluding New Zealand and Australia. Also, CNN rated Kaohsiung City as one of the five Asian cities that are most suitable for cycling in 2010. |

In order to develop low-carbon technologies, "Clean Energy Design and Planning Scheme of Kaohsiung City" has been launched. Kaohsiung City and Kitakyushu Asian Center for Low Carbon Society signed a MOU in March 2011 to collaborate for the promotion of renewable energy. |

Establish a public bicycle rental system that is the first and largest, with the most vehicles and widest coverage, cheapest, and the most convenient in Taiwan. Users can rent a bike at one point and return it at another. In addition, they can pay the rent by either membership cards or agreed credit cards. From its launch to July 2011, the system had accounted for more than 270,000 journeys, which had accomplished the task of reducing air pollution by 33.6 tons and carbon emission by 399 tons. |

Promote the electric vehicle industry and provide more subsidies for electric motorcycles and bicycles to replace old two-stroke motorcycles. The subsidies can be up to NT$19,000 ~ 25,000. Environmental Protection Administration's data in 2011 revealed that 9439 applications for subsidies were made for replacing two-stroke motorcycles and 450 applications made for replacing two-stroke motorcycles by purchasing electric motorcycles in Kaohsiung City, which were the highest numbers in the five municipalities as well as the whole country. |
